Magician and Escapologist

It started in 1960 when I became very interested in horses in 1963 I contacted Bernard Crabtree at The Tower to see if I could come and watch the horses perform. In 1964 for the last 2 months of the season, I became a ring boy.

I trundled along doing escapes where ever and whenever possible. I approached the Tower Company to be the first person to do a stunt from the Tower. I knew in the past so many people had applied and not been granted permission but First Leisure had just taken over and took advantage of knowing the stick men and the riggers to have a chat before I applied to work out how it could be done so when I did apply - I sent a resume to show how it could all be done safely.
