I started a concert party called The Whipper Snappers at St Johns Church, after 2 or 3 we decided we would do pantomimes. I wrote and directed 3 and then I had to do national service where I took part in concerts. Came home and married and decided I would do the working mans clubs.

One place in Blackpool used to be a bingo hall then they turned it into a casino we called it The Bug if you went on your own you always came away with someone. It was The Empire on Haweside Lane someone picked it up and turned it into The Sands Casino where I did several bookings. Lots of top entertainers would go after hours as it opened late, I know for a fact Jayne Mansfield went there.
